Pool Care

Important Pool Care Aspects

There are a few things you must do regularly to maintain a pool and keep the water free of algae or fungus. One key aspect is brushing the pool. You should brush the pool weekly at a minimum to prevent buildup on the walls or floor. It’s important to circulate any solids that settle so the filter can do its job. If there are larger solids that you don’t want in the filter, you’ll need to use a skimmer to remove them. You should skim the pool daily. It’s also a good habit to vacuum the pool. If you don’t have a robotic vacuum, you’ll need to manually vacuum using the vacuum attachment and hose.

One of the biggest factors in keeping a pool clean is its chemistry. You must maintain balanced chemical levels to prevent unwanted growth and to allow the chlorine to do its job effectively. Many people assume that dumping in a bunch of chlorine will kill everything and make the pool clear. But this couldn’t be further from the truth. Chlorine is only effective if your pH and alkalinity are balanced. If the pH is too high or too low, the chlorine will not work properly.
